Are you providing online or face-to-face therapy?

Currently I am providing both online and in-person therapy. Due to the COVID pandemic, we can discuss together which option is best for you. Online sessions are scheduled using Secure Video, a HIPPA compliant video platform. In order to utilize Secure Video you will need to have Zoom downloaded on the device you will be using.

How do I schedule my first appointment?

You may call or email and request a free 15-20 minute phone consultation. This provides an opportunity for both of us to ask questions to determine if we are a good fit. Your initial consult may be scheduled during this call.

What can I expect at my first therapy session?

It is natural to feel nervous or emotional at the first session, particularly if you are not used to talking about yourself. As a therapist, I will help you feel comfortable. You will be asked what led you to therapy at this time, your background, and we will identify goals.

What happens when I arrive for my appointment?

Please enter the building using the steps leading to the first floor. Please have a seat in our waiting room located to the right in the main lobby. Pressing the notification button which will let your therapist know you have arrived.

Does 12 Oaks Counseling of Hyde Park accept insurance?

Yes, we currently accept Humana and Aetna.

What are your private pay rates?

The Initial Consult is $165. Fifty-minute Sessions are $150

Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept checks and Visa, Master Card, Discovery and American Express.

Can I use my Health Savings Account?

Yes, you can use your health savings account. It is possible, however, your health savings card may not be compatible with our payment system. If this is the case, we can provide an email receipt which can be used for reimbursement from your health savings account.

What are your office hours?

Monday and Wednesday 9 AM to 5 PM

Tuesday and Thursday 9 AM to 7 PM

Friday 9 AM to 2 PM

Closed Saturday and Sunday

Is there parking?

Yes, there is free and ample parking in both the front and rear of the building.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

When you set up an appointment, I reserve a time just for you. I ask you to reserve time for your session in your schedule as well and cancel sessions as soon as you know there is a conflict. If you miss an appointment or cancel without a 24 hour notice there is a $75 fee.
